About CSFloArt Gallery

Celebrating Contemporary Art in the Heart of Germany

Our Story

CSFloArt Gallery was established in 2015 with a clear vision: to create a dynamic space where contemporary art could thrive, artists could connect with audiences, and meaningful cultural dialogue could unfold.

Founded by art historian Clara Schmidt and curator Friedrich Lorentz (whose initials give us the "CS" and "FLO" in our name), our gallery emerged from a shared passion for innovative artistic expression and a desire to showcase both established and emerging talents in the contemporary art scene.

What began as a modest exhibition space in a converted warehouse has grown into one of Germany's most respected contemporary art galleries, known for our thoughtfully curated exhibitions, commitment to artistic excellence, and warm, inclusive atmosphere.

Our Mission

At CSFloArt Gallery, we are committed to:

  • Showcasing diverse artistic voices and perspectives that reflect our complex contemporary world
  • Supporting artists at all stages of their careers through exhibitions, mentorship, and professional development
  • Creating meaningful connections between artists, audiences, and communities
  • Fostering critical dialogue about art and its relationship to social, political, and environmental issues
  • Making contemporary art accessible to diverse audiences through education and outreach

Our Philosophy

We believe that contemporary art has the power to challenge perceptions, spark dialogue, and create meaningful connections across cultural boundaries. Our curatorial approach is guided by several key principles:

Artistic Excellence

We seek out artists who demonstrate exceptional skill, originality, and conceptual depth in their practice, regardless of medium or background.

Diversity & Inclusion

We are committed to showcasing artists from diverse backgrounds, generations, and perspectives, believing that a multiplicity of voices enriches the artistic discourse.

Global & Local

While maintaining a strong connection to the German art scene, we embrace a global perspective, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and international artistic exchange.

Context & Education

We believe that art becomes more meaningful when viewers have tools to engage with it. Through thoughtful exhibition texts, public programs, and educational initiatives, we create multiple points of entry for diverse audiences.
